High-Performing and Sustainable Coatings with Capa® Polycaprolactone Polyols

Capa® polycaprolactone (PCL) polyols are used to enhance both sustainbility and performance in various coating technologies, including 2K polyurethanes, radical cure coatings, and polyurethane dispersions. Capa polyols are low viscosity, 100% solid polymers that are used to produce high solids, low VOC coatings. This study explores the performance benefits achieved when low molecular weight Capa polyols are blended with acrylic polyols in 2K coatings. We will also demonstrate how Capa polyols are used to improve polyurethane dispersions. Then we will summarize how Capa polyols can be incorporated in radical cure coatings. The ability of low molecular weight Capa polyols to modify crosslinking within the polymer network and subsequently improve the performance of a coating system will be discussed.

Good compatibility with conventional epoxy resin is providing an opportunity to substitute current epoxy reactive diluents to BHMF epoxy with improving anti-corrosion performance for protective and marine coatings.

The Coatings Technology Platform of Dow Industrial Solutions has been committed to technological innovation and product upgrading in the two major fields of coatings and emulsion polymerization. In recent years, it has focused on localized production and successively launched new products. In emulsion polymerization industry, Dow has introduced the nonionic emulsifier TERGITOL Pro series of surfactants. This emulsifier not only has excellent emulsification ability but also can enhance the wetting capacity of emulsions. In coatings industry, to meet the demand for further improvement of environmental friendliness in architectural coatings, Dow has developed low SVOC film-forming aids, DALPAD A Plus and DOWANOL BD-25, to meet the needs of different customers for film-forming aids. In terms of performance, these two film-forming aids can not only improve the stability of coatings but also maintain good scrub resistance and low-temperature crack resistance of coatings. The newly launched non-PFAS anti-tackling agent TRITON FCX-800 can not only enhance the anti-tackling property of paint films but also improve their stain resistance and dirt resistance. In addition, the low-foaming wetting agent TERGITOL CA-90, the dispersion stabilizer TERGITOL EA-408C, and the low-odor pH regulator UCAR MF 90CN will also be introduced.

Reducing the carbon footprint of paints and coatings has become a key priority for the coatings industry, driven by stricter regulations, green building certifications and growing consumer demand for sustainable products. This requires a comprehensive approach addressing both raw materials and formulation efficiency. Arkema has developed a broad set of sustainable solutions, including bio-based and bio-attributed ingredients designed through mass balance, enabling formulators to decrease reliance on fossil feedstocks. In this presentation, Arkema is showcasing its market approach together with existing and forthcoming innovations to formulate paints with reduced carbon footprint maintaining opacity, durability, and application performance. Concrete examples will be given to demonstrate how Arkema’s integrated approach can significantly reduce overall environmental impact — from raw material sourcing to end-use performance — supporting the coatings industry in its transition toward more circular, resource-efficient, and low-carbon solutions.

Access to the Exhibition’s Online Platform is provided on a temporary basis and we reserve the right to terminate the Site or amend any service we provide on the Site without notice. We will not be liable if, for any reason, the Site is unavailable at any time or for any period.
You are also responsible for ensuring all persons who access the Exhibition’s Online Platform through your Internet connection are aware of these Terms and that they comply with them. You agree not to damage, interfere with or disrupt access to the Site, or do anything which may interrupt or impair its functionality.

The Organizer is not responsible if any such information is not up-to-date. We do not actively or separately verify such information. We do not accept any responsibility whatsoever in respect of such information. Any use of and reliance on such information is solely at your own risk.

The Exhibition’s Online Platform contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for the accuracy or availability of any information provided by these linked websites.
6. User’s Conduct
As a condition of your use of the Exhibition’s Online Platform, you must not:
a. Alter, add to, delete, remove or tamper with the Exhibition’s Online Platform or any part of it or indirectly disrupt or interfere (or attempt to disrupt or interfere) with or alter the Site;
b. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Exhibition’s Online Platform, the server on which the Site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the Site;
c. Post or transmit any Information or software which contains any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, logic bombs or other harmful components;
d. Use the Exhibition’s Online Platform in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair the Site or interfere with any other party’s use and enjoyment of the Site;
e. Use the Exhibition’s Online Platform for any unlawful purpose or in any manner prohibited that may constitute a criminal offense.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
We are the owner or the licensee of all copyrights, trademarks, design rights, database rights, confidential information or any other Intellectual Property Rights in and on the Exhibition’s Online Platform. The Intellectual Property in and on the Site is protected by various related laws and treaties around the World. All rights are reserved to us.
8. Restricted Usage of Overall Site Content
You are permitted to print and download materials from the Exhibition’s Online Platform for your own use on the following basis:
a. No documents or related graphics on the Exhibition’s Online Platform are modified in any way;
b. No graphics on the Exhibition’s Online Platform are used separately from the corresponding texts; and
c. Our copyright and trademark notices and the permission given in these Terms must appear in all copies.
The use of any extract from the Exhibition’s Online Platform otherwise than in accordance with the above license provisions (for any purpose) is prohibited. If you breach any of the above license provisions, your permission to use the Exhibition’s Online Platform automatically terminates and you must immediately destroy any printed or downloaded extracts from the Site.
The Exhibition’s Online Platform may not be reproduced or stored, as a whole or in part, in any other website, or included in any public or private electronic retrieval system or service, without our prior written permission. Any rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved. 10. Limited Liability and Warranty
All information available from time to time on the Exhibition’s Online Platform is for your general reference only. The Organizer does not accept any responsibility whatsoever in respect of such Information.
Your access to and use of our Exhibition’s Online Platform is at your sole risk and is provided “as is”. We and any third party (whether or not involved in creating, producing, maintaining or delivering the Exhibition’s Online Platform) hereby exclude any and all liability and responsibility for any amount or kind of loss or damage that may result to you or a third party including, without limitation, any:
a. Direct, indirect, punitive or consequential loss or damage;
b. Loss of incomes, profits, goodwill, data, contracts or use of money, or
c. Loss or damage arising from or connected in any way to business interruption, and whether any of the foregoing are in tort, contract or otherwise in connection with the Exhibition’s Online Platform, including the use, inability to use or the results of use of the Site. We are not responsible for the contents of external websites. The Exhibition’s Online Platform may include links to external websites from time to time and when you access these links you may leave the Site. These links are provided for your convenience. External websites are not part of the Exhibition’s Online Platform and we do not endorse or accept any responsibility for the contents of external websites (nor the products or services on them), are not responsible for the availability of external websites and will not be liable in any way for any loss or damage which you may suffer by using external websites, including, without limitation, viruses that may infect computer equipment, software, data or other property. If you decide to access linked external websites you do so at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for: (i) Death or personal injury caused by negligence, or (ii) fraud.
11. Termination
We may, in our sole discretion and at any time, without prior notice to you and without cause, terminate all or any part of our Services to you and consequentially prohibit your right to access to the Services and / or the Website.
12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms of Use shall be governed by the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts.

The Organizers of CHINACOAT and SFCHINA series of exhibitions (Hereafter referred to as “We”, “Us” and “Our”) take individuals’ privacy seriously. This Statement explains our policies and practices in more details, and applies to information collection and use including but not limited to while you are visiting and using our Exhibition’s Online Platforms.
We respect your privacy and we promise:

Information (Such as your name, company name, company address, mobile number, email address, nature of business, etc. of your company) when you register with us, use our services, attend our activities or communicate with us;

The contents of any communications you send to us, for example, to report a problem or to submit queries, concerns or comments regarding to the Exhibition’s Online Platform or its online contents; or information you submitted via survey;

In addition, when you browse the Exhibition’s Online Platform, we will collect the basic technical information that your browser sends to the Exhibition’s Online Platform website, such as browser type and language, access time, address of the site from which you came to the website, your Internet Protocol (IP) address, or click stream data within our Platform (i.e. the actions taken in connection with our Exhibition’s Online Platform) etc. We collect such technical information during your visit to the Exhibition’s Online Platform through our automatic data collection tools, which may include cookies and other commonly used technologies. We collect such data solely for the purpose of improving the functionality of the Exhibition’s Online Platform. Further information on cookies is set out below.
Use of Information
a. Marketing

b. Mobile Applications and Website Analytics
We may combine visitor registration information or other information collected through tracking technologies with personally identifiable information to understand and analyse your online experiences and determine which events, products and / or services are likely to be of interest to you.
Where you consent to the use of your location data, certain mobile applications may use location data to assist you to navigate around events and bring exhibitors’ information to your attention whilst you are using our Exhibition’s Online Platform.
Our marketing related emails contain a single, campaign-unique “Web Beacon Pixel” to identify whether emails are opened and, combined with other technologies, to verify any clicks through to links within the emails. We may use this information collected for purposes including determining which emails are of more interest to you and to query whether users who do not open our emails wish to continue receiving them. The pixel will be deleted when you delete the emails.
Disclosure
We will keep the personal data we hold confidential but may provide your personal data to:
Personnel, agents, advisers, auditors, contractors and service providers in connection with our operations or services;
Our offices in China, affiliates, business partners and other trade promotion organizations;
Persons to whom we are required to make disclosure under applicable laws in or outside Hong Kong SAR.
